According to a public relations guru, Meghan Markle ‘needs to become more relatable’ to the public in order for her new brand, American Riviera Orchard, to be a success

Meghan Markle “needs to become more relatable” in order for her new lifestyle brand to be successful, it has been claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, unveiled her new brand earlier this month. Meghan left her fans in a state of excitement when an Instagram account for American Riviera Orchard appeared online, complete with a swanky logo and rustic-looking promotional film.

Meghan was known for her lifestyle blog The Tig prior to marrying Prince Harry, with this new venture thought to be The Tig 2.0. Speculation states that American Riviera Orchard will focus on lifestyle and food, with a cookery programme also speculated to coincide with the brand that will sell home decor and food items.

As Meghan’s fans anticipate what is next for American Riviera Orchard and what’s next for the Duchess, and as the world awaits an update on the brand, The Mirror has caught up with a public relations guru. Speaking to Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR, we were told that the Duchess’ brand will “likely be successful”.

“Despite Megan’s low popularity in polls and the criticisms she faces, she does still have a loyal fan base, American Riviera Orchard has already garnered 562k followers on Instagram with no content,” Lynn told us.

She went on to say that she believes the new brand “will likely be successful” and “thanks to the ‘Meghan effect’, her fans will buy the products”. Meghan’s new brand is rumoured to begin selling marmalades, jams and home decor items.

But Lynn did issue Meghan a warning, adding: “However, its long-term success is yet to be decided. If Meghan continues trying to build on her popularity and works on her PR strategy to become more relatable to the public, she will be able to tap into a new market beyond her current fan base to build a sustainable business.”

This comes after the Duchess of Sussex recently enlisted a photographer to snap photos of her at her Montecito mansion. The former Suits star is said to have posed for some lifestyle snaps, with her even having some snaps taken with her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
