Meghan Markle ’s lifestyle brand As Ever could be at risk of collapsing if she keeps doing one big thing, according to a PR expert. Meghan released a series of new products just weeks ago, with the items selling out in a mere few hours. Whether Meghan is selling her famous jams, baking packs or her brand new rosé wine, her products are almost guaranteed to sell out within hours of going on sale.

While many would see this as a sign of great success, PR expert and CEO of Go Up Edward Coram-James believes it could actually damage her brand if it continues, because customers could be left feeling “frustrated and let down”.

Mr Coram-James told Express : “The jam selling out does show there’s genuine enthusiasm for Meghan’s products. When handled well, limited stock can create buzz for future releases. But for that to work, the messaging needs to be crystal clear from the start.

“Customers have to know it’s a small-batch, limited-edition item. Otherwise, they’ll feel frustrated and let down. Repeated supply problems risk damaging the brand’s reputation over time.”

The latest product that Meghan launched was her Napa Valley rosé wine, which hit shelves last week and was priced at £22 per bottle. The wine was only available to order in batches of three, six and twelve.

Meghan took to Instagram to share her delight in the fact that the wine sold out, writing: “Still soaking it in- feeling endlessly grateful. Cheers to what’s ahead!”

Meanwhile, after her last restock sold out in record time, Meghan was forced to give away some of her famous jams for free to loyal customers who thought they secured the items in an online order.

It emerged that some customers who thought they had secured the £7 apricot spread have now been sent emails telling them that they would not be receiving the products, due to high demand. And to rectify the situation, not only would they be receiving a full refund but also be sent a jar of the spread for free when it is back in stock.

The email sent to customers said: “‘Due to high demand, we are unable to fulfil your order of the apricot spread at this time. We are refunding the purchase of this item by the end of this week.

“In addition to the refund, we want you to know that when the apricot spread is back in stock, you will be the first to receive it, free of charge.”
