Met Office Euro weather forecast for London celebrations after week of thunderstorms

There is hope for those hoping to watch England win the Euro 2024 tournament from a sunny beer garden, with the Met Office issuing an update on the weather this weekend in London.

With grim weather throughout this week, the promise of sunshine this weekend will be a welcome surprise for London football fans. After a week or so of downpours, it looks like there will now likely be clear skies, and even some sunshine, for Sunday’s match, according to the Met Office.

The news of clearer skies will be important for any potential victory celebrations, including the plans for a big open-top bus parade and royal reception on Tuesday. Sunny and dry skies on Sunday will also be a great reason to get out and watch the game on one of London’s big screens.

The better weather should continue through to Tuesday, with Monday’s temperature predicted to be 25 degrees Celsius and Tuesday’s 23 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office had predicted this weekend’s weather to be ‘mainly fine, with variable cloud’, with a ‘chance of a shower’ A full breakdown of the weather forecast is below:

Tomorrow (July 13) is predicted to be ‘warm with sunshine and showers’ and these will be ‘slow-moving given light winds’ and the maximum temperature will be 21 degrees Celsius.

Sunday (July 14) ‘will be dry for most with some warm sunshine by afternoon.’ The temperature is forecast to reach 23 degrees Celsius and it looks like there could be a particularly sunny spell at around 7pm.

On Monday (July 15) and Tuesday (July 16) there will be an ‘increasing chance of showers’ which ‘could turn heavy with thundery downpours in places”. However it is currently predicted that Monday will be dry until 7pm, while Tuesday will see some more showers throughout the day.
