London is in for a scorcher of a Sunday with temperatures set to be warmer than Ibiza in the afternoon (May 11). The Met Office is predicting it will hit a toasty 24C at around 1pm – a whole 4C warmer than the Spanish island.
Don’t forget your sun cream either as it’s gonna be hot, hot, hot for six hours straight. There will plenty of time to enjoy the holiday vibes too as the sun is staying out until 8.40pm, with the city enjoying a low of just 18C overnight.
Sadly, the wind isn’t going away. The experts are forecasting a gentle breeze of up to 12 miles per hour. This, paired with some light clouds, will make it feel more like 21C, but after a week of chilly weather, there’s not really much to complain about.
BBC Weather agrees, but its meteorologists have also promised zero chance of rain. The good news doesn’t stop there either, as Monday’s temperatures are going to climb even higher, according to both organisations.
The Met Office says we’re in for a high of 26C, with the peak happening just as the work day ends – get in! The wind is even dying down a little, so it’ll actually feel that warm this time around.
It may be wise to bring an umbrella, though, as there’s a 40% chance of showers just after midday. However, BBC Weather is expecting a high of 24C at around 2pm with only a 15% chance of rain.
Either way, London will still have bragging rights as Ibiza is only experiencing a max of 21C. The same is true of Barcelona, Granada and Tenerife, with Madrid reaching just 18C.
