The Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert warning of thunderstorms. It covers tomorrow (Thursday, July 31) and starts at 10am, running up until 9pm.

It covers much of the South, including London, Kent, Sussex, at goes as far west as Bristol. We are to expect delays and cancellations to public transport where there is flooding and lighting strikes.

Southerners should also brace themselves for the possibility of power cuts, as well as floods to our homes. A yellow warning is the first rung of a three-tier scoring system for weather alerts.

It follows an amber warning, and in extreme cases red warnings, where there is a very real danger of a threat to life.
