The Met Office has shared a yellow weather warning for today (Wednesday, September 3) that just grazes London. If you live to the south or west of London, travelling could be a struggle this morning.
The warning started at midnight and lasts until 2pm this afternoon, meaning it lasts a huge 14 hours. The silver lining is that it looks to be over by the time you head home after work.
A map of the warning shows it wrapping about London, just missing Croydon in the south and taking in vast swathes of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire to the west. It stretches all the way across the West Country to the tip of Cornwall.
The Met Office has said that people should expect flooding in some areas, as well as general disruption to travel. Power supplies may also be affected.
In London, meanwhile, there’s no official warning, but skies will be grey and plants relieved. While temperatures will peak at 21C, we’ll have rain into the late afternoon.
The waterworks look to stop at around 4pm, but will be back tomorrow (Thursday, September 4) just in time for the morning rush. Friday (September 5), meanwhile, looks to be dry and sunny.
