Met Police continue increased Hayes patrols after boy, 16, stabbed to death

The Met Police say Hayes residents will continue to see an increased presence from officers following the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Kamari Johnson. The teenage boy was stabbed to death in broad daylight in the vicinity of Bourne Avenue and Nine Acre Close on Friday afternoon (May 24).

A teenager has appeared in court charged with murdering Kamari in Hayes. The 17-year-old male appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday (May 27) charged with murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday (May 29). He was arrested on Saturday (May 25) by detectives investigating Kamari’s murder.

Detectives continue to ask for any witnesses or anyone with information about the altercation which took place at around 1.30pm on Friday. A Met Police spokesperson said: “We understand the impact this has had on the local community and are thankful for their continued support as this investigation continues.

“Local residents will continue to see an increased police presence in and around the area; anyone with concerns is asked to speak to them or call police on 101.” Anyone with footage or images that could assist the investigation can upload them directly to police via the Operation Brownlow online portal.
