The Met Police are investigating two street shootings in South London in the space of just over 36 hours. Officers were called to reports of gunfire on the High Trees Estate, in Tulse Hill, at 12.18am on Thursday (June 13) and then there was a separate shooting near Lakedale Road, in Pumstead in the borough of Greenwich, at 1.07pm on Friday (June 14).

Police have not said they are linking the incidents. When officers arrived in Tulse Hill, in Lambeth, on Thursday there were no reports of anyone being injured. Officers want to talk to anyone who saw a black VW ID.5 in the area around that time, or who noticed anyone acting suspiciously.

Detective Inspector, Martin Thomas from the team leading the investigation, said: “All reports of this kind are taken incredibly seriously and are investigated thoroughly. I am asking anyone who was in the area and heard or saw shots fired to contact us immediately. I also want to ask local residents to check their doorbell and dash cam footage to see if they might have caught something that can help us.”

With the second incident in Plumstead there were also no victims found, but police found a car which had been damaged by gunfire. A crime scene remained in place at that location on Friday afternoon.

No arrests have been made in either investigation and police enquiries continue. Anyone with information and any witnesses are asked to call police on 101. To remain anonymous please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
