A mum has described school as a ‘prison’ and claims to have taken her daughters, eight and nine, out of traditional education – she insists they can learn more being at home and going on holidays
A millionaire mum has claimed she won’t send her daughters to school – insisting they get a better education at home.
Cassayane Clark says she removed her daughters – Bug, nine, and Bunny, eight – from school this year. She believes her children learn more from “having their freedom,” enjoying holidays, and being able to focus on subjects where they thrive the most. The mum, who has recently had a third child, believes it is unfair for children to have to sit in a classroom for eight hours a day and being stopped from talking or going to the bathroom.
“What can school give them that I can’t?,” she asked after appearing on YouTube’s Truly TV recently. “Everything I’ve wanted in life, I’ve managed to get off my own back”.
The mum – who also doesn’t agree with certain topics such as sex education being taught in school – says she dropped out of school at 14 and has developed a successful health and aesthetics business. She also works as a social media influencer. While she hopes her children will “follow their own path” like she did, she insists she would support her children if they wanted to return to education when they are older.
Most parents know what a nightmare the school run in a morning can be – but for Cassayane and her girls, they enjoy a much more relaxed start to the day. After all three of them wake up in their heatless rollers, they enjoy breakfast together, before carrying out chores, doing their skincare routines, perfecting their hair and picking out matching outfits. Cassayne also allows the girls to enjoy beauty treatments from eyelash extensions to eyebrow tinting, and often treats them to designer goods. The girls have a number of designer bags and even wear Tom Ford fragrance.
Cassayane claimed her daughters have home tutoring on Mondays – spending an hour on each “core” subject. The mum also added that she ensures her children play sports, and as their grandmother is a “professional chef”, the children are learning to “cook from scratch”.
The mum-of-three has faced criticism from her own mother, Angelika, about her alleged decision to pull the girls out of school. She explained: “My mom is anti-taking them out of school. She does not agree with it.”
Angelika said: “For children it’s important to learn certain schools that they can’t learn at home. I believe that the timing is wrong. They are too young to be taken out now.”
But Cassayane isn’t letting her mum’s opinions, nor trolls online, affect her decisions. She said: “For people that judge me on my parenting, I don’t really care.”
She describes her daughters as “very good, well-mannered, polite children” who are “grateful and appreciative”. For this reason, Cassyane explained that she likes to treat them as “they deserve it”.
