This afternoon, our showbiz team broke the shock news that ITV was making mass changes to its daytime TV shows – spelling especially bad news for TV icon Lorraine. Elsewhere, our news team released the shocking footage of a pensioner being Tasered and James Argent’s girlfriend’s injuries were revealed in court documents.

ITV announce MAJOR changes to huge daytime shows and it’s bad news for Lorraine

ITV daytime will look very different in a few months after bosses announced sweeping changes coming to shows including Good Morning Britain. The ITV news and magazine shows usually run from 6am to 1.30pm weekdays and include the breakfast show followed by Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women.

From January 2026, Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily. While Lorraine Kelly’s show has been cut in half and will now run from 9.30am until 10am. Not only that, but the programme will only air for 30 weeks of the year.

During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am. This Morning will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year, while Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot for a seasonal basis of 30 weeks too.

A court has heard howa disabled 93-year-old was sprayed in the face with synthetic pepper spray, shot with a Taser, and struck with a baton by police officers who responded to an emergency call at his care home.

Donald Burgess, who had one leg and used a wheelchair, was allegedly assaulted by PC Stephen Smith and PC Rachel Comotto at the home in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, on June 21, 2022. Smith, 51, denies two counts of assault involving Pava spray and a baton, while Comotto denies a single charge of assault by discharging her Taser.

Prosecutors say the officers unleashed “unjustified and unlawful” force within seconds of entering his room, with just one minute and 23 seconds passing from when the cops arrived to the pensioner being tasered, Southwark Crown Court was told on Monday.

James Argent’s girlfriend Nicoline Arturrson was left with horrific injuries following a heated altercation while the couple were holidaying in Spain. The former TOWIE star, 37, received a six-month suspended prison sentence and a two-year restraining order from a Spanish court.

He had pleaded guilty to shoving Artursson. According to eyewitness accounts, the confrontation escalated to the point where Argent was allegedly seen hurling clothing from a balcony and storming out of the property with a bag in hand.

A bystander told the Mirror that they had comforted Artursson, who was visibly shaken. “She was crying a lot,” the source told us. “She looked extremely distressed and nervous.

After announcing his EU trade deal yesterday, Keir Starmer took to the House of Commons to make a statement on the agreement this afternoon. During the speech, our politics team spotted the PM humiliate Nigel Farage by pointing to a major unanswered question – where is the Reform UK leader?

The Prime Minister took aim at the outspoken politician after he savaged the new UK-EU deal yet was not present in the chamber during the PM’s statement on the agreement. Mr Starmer said Mr Farage has shown his party “simply do not care”. He also slammed Tory leader Kemi Badenoch and Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey.

Speaking in the Commons, Conservative leader Ms Badenoch said the deals with the US, India and European Union were “own goals” and said the Government had failed to improve terms agreed by the Tories. Yesterday Mr Farage branded the new EU deal a “betrayal of Brexit”, while Sir Ed a deal with “more ambition” could have been “ten times greater”.

King Charles to send powerful message to Donald Trump with historic visit to Canada

This Wednesday, our royal team revealed that King Charles will “reinforce the power and the strength of the message” to Donald Trump that “Canada is not for sale” when he makes a historic visit to the country next week. Charles will travel to Canada for the first time as monarch when he flies to Ottawa with Queen Camilla on Monday.

Ahead of their visit, the royal couple toured Canada House on Trafalgar Square where they were shown a giant map of the country’s historic sites. Ralph Goodale, the High Commissioner for Canada in the UK, said the visit would be significant in the wake of verbal aggression from the US president that Canada should become the 51st state of America.

Mark Carney, the newly elected prime minister of Canada, told Trump that Canada was not for sale following the US president’s comments. Mr Goodale said: “The prime minister has made it clear that Canada is not for sale not, is not for sale ever, and I think he probably added five ‘nevers’ after that to make the point.”
