A man managed to get his hands on a £10 Too Good To Go bag from his local Marks & Spencer store, and went on to share his honest verdict on each item he got.
Too Good To Go – an app that allows thrifty shoppers to score discounted food and drink items from shops, cafes and restaurants that would otherwise go to waste – has soared in popularity in recent years. People picking up the bags, however, have no say in what they will receive and the food they get isn’t always what they might expect, as they either get items they love or despise.
One man named Carmie Sellitto has now shared his honest verdict after managing to grab a £10 Too Good To Go bag from his local M&S store. He then took to his TikTok account, where he has over 1.3 million followers, to share his honest verdict on each of the items he got.
“Let’s see what I got inside my £10 M&S Too Good To Go bag,” he said as he held up the seemingly fully packed M&S paper bag.
He then went straight in to unpack the bag in his car, taking out the first item, which was a package of red velvet pancakes. He quickly opened it to taste test one of the pancakes. He went on to say: “It feels and tastes like sponge. I rate these an 8.5 out of ten.”
Next up was a package of two toffee meringues, which each had two meringues sandwiched together with a creamy toffee sauce in the middle, and they seem to have tasted just as good as they looked, with Carmie ranking them a nine out of ten.
The third thing he got from the bag was a package of honey and mustard mini sausages. As he opened up the package to try it, he stated: “I can definitely smell the honey and mustard.”
As he went on to try them, he added: “Mm, these are good. These are getting a nine out of ten.”
The next item went on to leave Carmie slightly confused, as he went on to show off a package of ‘Walter the Sausage Dog minis’
“I swear M&S are just making anything nowadays,” he said before taking out one of the small dog-shaped cakes, which he immediately expressed his bafflement for how cute it was. He went on to rate it seven out of ten after taking a bite of it.
Next up was a mini shepherd’s pie, which he once again went in to try immediately, claiming that it tasted good but argued it’d be nicer with some added cheese on top. Because of this, he scored it six out of ten.
For the next savoury item, he got out a package of precooked piri piri British chicken slices, which got a taste rating of eight and a half out of ten. He then moved swiftly onto a pack of six of Japanese-style fried onion mini milk buns, which he ranked seven out of ten.
Next up was some lemon and sultana Danishes, to which he said: “Okay, now that looks good.”
Clearly hey tasted just as nice as they looked, as he went on to rank them nine and a half out of ten, before moving on to the final thing in his bag.
“And last but definitely not least, they’ve given me a quiche, which some of you may know if you follow me, you would know I don’t like quiche.” he told his viewers. However, this didn’t stop him from opening up the package to then take a bite out of it. He then went on to rank it two out of ten.
People were quick to take to the comment section of the video to share their thoughts, as many were impressed by the amount of things he got.
“I’d love to try an M&S Too Good to Go, but I’ve never seen one where I live,” one person said, while someone else wrote: “I’m beginning to think these are not real too good to go bag. the contents are always sooo good.”
A third person added: “Your M&S went in!”
However, several people also criticised the creator for trying some of the foods while they were still cold.
“Hold on…. Did you just eat cold shepherds pie?” one person wondered, while another viewer said: “Genuinely horrified by the treatment of the shepherds pie. why would you do that.”
