A ‘floor is lava’ player has revealed the ‘bad form’ move which would horrify more imaginative, younger players as other users say they have cheat codes for the game as they are too clumsy

A woman has revealed a move which will horrify children playing the imaginative “floor is lava” game.

The objective of the game is to stay off of the floor as it has been consumed by lava, with players diving around couches, tables and cabinets in order to avoid the floor. But one player seemingly fed up with the intricacies of the game has developed a new strategy.

Though effective, their strategy of “laying down on the floor” does little to surprise other players and has even horrified children who were playing alongside the user who is hitting back at Twitter/X users poking holes in her strategy.

She wrote: “APPARENTLY when you’re playing the floor is lava with your child it is bad form to lay down on the floor and allow the lava to consume you. I know this now.” Other users have said it is a “terrible thing” and that aiming for one crucial furniture item was a winning strategy.

Another user suggested: “That’s a terrible thing. The lava is more dense than your body, so you will float on it and burn, slowly, horribly. Aim for the couch cushion!” A third added: “Traumatising I’m sure. Your child will relive that horror daily until they see you do a backflip into the lava next time.”

Others have revealed they received similarly horrified responses but their inventive kids brought on new ways to keep them alive as the imaginary lava flowed. One player revealed: “My child gave me lava boots because he was unimpressed by my lack of survival instincts.”

Another replied: “My son and daughter tell me I have lava proof socks because I’m too clumsy to be trusted not to step in the lava, I mean it’s true but I don’t need to be called out every time we play floor is lava.”
