Hanif Redwood was shot outside a nightclub

The mother of a murdered Barking dad-of-two has made a heart-wrenching plea to help find her son’s killers. Hanif Redwood, 32, was shot dead outside Factory 15 nightclub in the early hours of Sunday, October 13, 2024. Police say he was leaving the venue shortly after 4.30am when he was approached by his attackers in the car park. He died at the scene while being treated by paramedics.

One year on from his murder, the Metropolitan Police is offering a ÂŁ20k for information that would bring those responsible to justice. Hanif’s mother said: “Words cannot comprehend how I felt, and how I still feel. That’s my baby, he’s my baby boy and he’s gone. As a family we are utterly speechless and still at a loss one year on. I pray to God that we may get closure and justice for Hanif.

“Anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area, or who may have information that could assist with the investigation, please come forward. Even the smallest detail could be crucial in helping us understand what happened.”

Scotland Yard believes Hanif is innocent and was not the intended target of the attack. Multiple arrests have been made as part of the murder investigation but none have resulted in anyone being charged.

Detective Inspector Emma Sharp, who is leading the investigation, said: “We continue to support the family of Hanif Redwood. His death devastated his family and friends, as well as many in the local community.

“A year on from his murder, we are appealing for any new information. While we have made progress with our investigation, we still need those who know what happened to come forward. Someone must have seen or heard something, they must know why this shooting took place. No piece of information is too small, it could be the crucial clue that leads us to identify Hanif’s murderer.

“We hope the reward of up to ÂŁ20,000 will encourage anyone with information about this incident to come forward and help the investigation. Can you assist the police and help Hanif’s family seek the justice they deserve?”
