A man is seeking advice after allegedly being served with a restraining order from his former date who claims he hacked her phone and bank and kept prank-calling her

A man has been left scratching his head after claiming his date served him with a restraining order after he ghosted her. He claims a sheriff knocked on his door late at night to serve him with an injunction – forbidding him from contacting his former date.

However, he says he hasn’t spoken to her in a month – and doesn’t understand why a restraining order is necessary. He said on Reddit: “He explained I was receiving an injunction (restraining order) from a girl I ghosted (stopped talking to her) a month ago. She accused me of stalking her and hacking her phone. None of which I did.”

The man claims to have “hung out” with the woman on four or five occasions – but decided to call it off because she has “major anxiety and depression”. He said: “I just stopped responding to her texts. She continued blowing up my phone with 10+ paragraphs of text in September and I just never responded.

  • ‘Entitled mum orders I wake her son up before school run – I taught her a lesson’
  • ‘I caught my mum sleeping with my husband – I can’t erase the image from my mind’
  • “I haven’t talked to her since. I treated her as a friend, I was nice to her, I bought her dinner, and I cooked for her. Now I have to go to court next week to fight this restraining order. The packet I received from the police included all the info and documents she provided as evidence. It’s included 5 pages of her handwriting explaining things but I can barely read her handwriting.”

He says the woman accused him of hacking her phone and bank – and says he was prank calling her. He said: “The number isn’t mine. There’s no text messages or any real evidence of me stalking her or doing anything bad. Just 20 pages of her phone analytics/data and a few screenshots of phone calls that don’t show my number anywhere.

“I screenshotted the last few text conversations we had, where she was blowing up my phone. I plan to print them out and bring them to court.” Seeking advice, he added: “My question is do I actually need a lawyer? It seems obvious to me that this will be thrown out in court. There’s no real evidence. What can I do to protect myself? Should I file a restraining order on her? Do I counter-sue her?”

In response, one user said: “I would go in with a lawyer to protect you in this situation and advise you on what to do if it escalates further. You do not want to have a restraining order on your record.” Another user added: “Frankly, it sounds like she is stalking you. She continues to text.

“Now, she is setting up a chance to see you in person by hauling you to court. Maybe you should be seeking a restraining order against her.” In an update, he claims she didn’t show up to court and the case was dismissed. He said: “I haven’t heard from her at all and she remains blocked. It all worked out.”
