A woman was left heartbroken when her husband dropped a huge bombshell about the history of her engagement ring – and is now demanding he buys her a new one as people tell her it’s ground for a divorce
Finding the perfect engagement ring can be hard – but one woman was left heartbroken when she realised where her fiancé had got hers from.
Getting engaged is one of the most exciting times in your life, as you start to plan your wedding with your partner, but one woman has been left shocked after realising her engagement ring has a rather bizarre past, and is now demanding she gets a new one.
TikToker Belle was over the moon when her partner popped the question, and was in love with her beautiful ring that featured a 1ct white emerald cut diamond and a 1ct yellow pear cut diamond. However, she only found out the truth about it once they were married.
She took to TikTok to look for advice, as she revealed her husband dropped the bombshell after she told him how much she loved it. She was stunned to find out that her beloved engagement ring once belonged to his ex, Erica. Shocked, Belle then asked her husband: “Erica, the girl you were going to marry? You guys were engaged for a whole year.”
She claimed she was hurt by the news, and found out that the ring was designed by Erica and the couple had picked it up just a few months before they split up. Belle added: “There is one that I wanted and he said it was too expensive. Do I just ask him to get that one instead?”
Fellow TikTokers were quick to chime in with their thoughts, as many were shocked that he kept the ring. One person said: “The fact he designed it with her yet the one you want is too expensive? I don’t believe it. He was stupid to mention Erica. He needs to fix the situation to make it right. I’m sorry you’re hurting.”
A second wrote: “Leave. This is a preview of your life with him. This is the best you’ll ever be treated,” while another added: “That’s a red flag. you should be getting a new ring. engagement rings tell a story,” to which Belle replied: “I will be getting a new ring.”
Shockingly, Belle isn’t the only woman this has happened to, as one woman shared her own personal experience and said: “Girl! My ex husband proposed and is now married to his new wife with MY engagement ring! The ring I researched, I picked out, that I physically purchased!”
