Your wedding day should be one of the best days of your life. That’s why the last thing you’d expect, on a day that’s all about you, is for someone to comment on your weight
A woman has slammed a family friend for telling her she looked “fat” at her wedding.
It may seem shocking, but one guest didn’t hold back when it came to making comments about the bride’s appearance. And no, we’re not joking.
Your wedding day is expected to be the best day of your life, so the last thing you’d expect is for someone to make a comment about your size – but that’s what happened to one woman. Her so-called friend decided to share the shocking message once the ceremony was out of the way.
The bride shared a screenshot of a message she received from her friend after she told them she was expecting a baby. The pal then replied: “Congrats. You looked fatter in your wedding photos. Now I know why.” She replied that she hadn’t been pregnant on the wedding day.
Writing on Reddit, the anonymous woman claimed: “I’m three months pregnant, we got married four months ago. Don’t worry I showed this to my brother and he lost his mind, messaged the family friend and absolutely ripped him a new ***hole. Also not that it should matter what my weight is, but I’m not overweight at all.”
People have been left in total shock since she shared the story online, and said there’s no way this person can call themselves a “friend”. They thought he was really “mean”, and said the comment was totally uncalled for.
Luckily, the expecting mum’s brother had her back when the harsh comment was made. Social media users said this was a good thing, as at least someone was looking out for her.
One person said: “Your friend looks ignorant.” Another added: “Who just says things like that? What, did they think you waited until now to share ultrasound photos? That’s not a friend. I’m glad your brother has your back, because wow that was incredibly rude.”
A third chimed in with: “I will never understand why people think that they’re entitled to comment on other peoples’ bodies. OP, I’m sure you looked stunning, and this AH does not deserve to share in your joy. Congrats on your growing family!”
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “How does someone lack so much social awareness that they say this thinking it’s funny?”
