A woman has told of her ‘huge heartbreak’ after finding out that her husband and sister had kissed on a drunken night out, leaving her ‘blindsided and broken’

A woman has asked for some much-needed advice after finding out some shocking news about her husband and sister that has left her ‘blindsided.’ After revealing she had always trusted her husband implicitly, she said she was finding it hard to get over his recent ‘bombshell’, after he admitted to kissing her sister when on a drunken night out.

However, while he came clean to his wife, telling her immediately, she said that he was adamant that what had happened didn’t amount to cheating: “He said it wasn’t a full-on snog, but definitely a lingering kiss,” she revealed, before adding: “More how you kiss your wife, not your sister-in-law.”

“He instigated it and is very apologetic, but he doesn’t see it as cheating. He says, to him, [cheating] implies there was sex which there definitely wasn’t.” She also told how her husband was the least likely person she would ever imagine behaving in this way: “He is one of those men I never ever thought would do something like this. Trusted him completely, his loyalty to me is usually his top priority.”

Her sister hadn’t yet spoken to her about the incident, initially lying to her partner saying it was only a peck on the cheek, before admitting to him he had kissed her: “She apparently wasn’t expecting it and was shocked, but my husband denies this and says it felt very mutual to him.” She continued: “They were having a heart to heart discussion, hugged it out and it just happened apparently. Says he doesn’t know what he was thinking.”

After taking her marriage problems to Mumsnet to see what others thought of her sister situation, most said it was a huge betrayal between the two people she trusted the most: “It’s certainly a betrayal, by both of them. You’re quite within your rights to be both furious and upset,” said one reader, while another said: “I’d be done with both of them. It’s a huge betrayal. I’d be furious my sister hadn’t immediately come and told me. And then lied to her partner…”

“Sorry, that would be cheating in my book,” said another. “I would be so hurt by this, the worst thing to happen.” Another agreed, commenting: “I don’t see how you could trust either of them ever to be in the same room together, so you either lose your family or your husband.” “Of course, it’s cheating,” said one reader furious on her behalf. I wonder if he’d be perfectly fine if you snogged his brother or his dad, eh?”
