A single mum has found herself in an awkward situation after sharing a night of steamy passion with her married neighbour, following a slow build-up of flirting. But now, he can’t even look her in the eye
A woman has been left ‘hurt and confused’ after succumbing to a night of passion with her married neighbour.
Many Brits have been morally trapped after finding themselves lusting for someone who isn’t (or at least, shouldn’t be) available. Being the ‘other woman’ may be exciting and fill you with adrenaline – but it can also land you in a pretty sticky situation.
On the other side of things, many adults feel stuck in loveless marriages but don’t want to separate due to a plethora of reasons – from financial ties to children. In fact, a survey commissioned by married dating site Ashley Madison found a whopping 63 per cent of wedded respondents have their eye on another person.
But what happens when both parties cave into temptation?
A 35-year-old single mum developed the hots for her married neighbour after their children became friends. Things started off relatively innocent, but the flirting soon revved up. The man started confiding to the woman about his rocky relationship with his wife and started to make excuses to constantly come around to her house. This resulted in him eventually begging her for sex and having a fiery night of passion.
“The sex felt so intense and I really thought we’d made a special connection but from that moment on everything changed and now he refuses to speak to me,” the anonymous woman told Dear Diedre. “After he left everything changed. He stopped coming around and every time I see him he glances at me and walks away.”
The woman is now emotionally torn and wonders whether the man regrets cheating on his wife. “Did it mean nothing?” she asks, reminiscing on the ‘incredible’ build-up. In response to the dilemma, agony aunt Diedre argued the man may have the same feelings but is ‘distancing himself for a reason’.
She says he may be busy arguing with his wife or dealing with other issues and recommended the woman let time heal her wounds – but warns the second they acted on their fantasy ‘reality came crashing down’. “When you are ready, pick yourself up and get out socialising again [and] meet someone who is available for a relationship,” the agony aunt added.

Meanwhile, a man has been accused of infidelity after purchasing an ‘innocent’ garment for his upcoming work trip. The anonymous man recently took to Reddit to explain how he usually wears ‘well worn but comfortable tighty whities’ but decided to treat himself to some ‘silky’ briefs.
However, after discovering the sexy underwear in his luggage the night before he was jetting off to Las Vegas, his wife accused him of having an affair. “I feel she’s being paranoid, and frankly insane,” he wrote. “I told her this directly and slept on the opposite side of the bed from her that night. I don’t know what to expect from her when I come home.”
Whilst some backed the man and argued his wife was ‘overreacting’ – not everybody was convinced the husband was telling the truth. “You’re behaving in an out-of-character way then were very rude to your wife. Your behaviour and response make you look suspicious,” one user commented.
