Neighbours from hell are causing a nightmare for a man whose sleep has been ruptured by a gamer screaming through the night, with the frustrated individual turning to Reddit for help
A man is close to “losing it” with his neighbours from hell as they scream through the night.
Detailing his bad luck with adjacent properties in a furious tirade on Reddit, user OptimalReactions revealed their screaming neighbours were making it impossible to enjoy life in their home. In a post to r/NeighboursFromHell, they revealed their breaking point had finally been hit and were seeking advice on what to do about the loud music and shouting.
They wrote: “My current neighbours, one of them is a gamer who never sleeps and just SCREAMS and RAGES constantly until 3am; the other neighbour has just started a routine of playing music at 9pm til 11pm.
“I can’t f***ing take it anymore. I want to bang on the walls and yell at them to shut up, and the only reason I haven’t is because I am now convinced they will only double down to spite me.” They recalled an earlier incident with other neighbours who were asked to turn their music down but retaliated by blasting tunes until the early hours.
The original poster added: “Some years ago in a different home I POLITELY asked my neighbours to turn down their house-shaking music at 10pm because I was getting up at 6am – they turned it up triple the volume and kept it on til 3am, just to be a**holes, just because I asked. That day was an extreme case, but they played music very loud ALL day EVERY day right up until 11pm. After months of gathering evidence for the relevant authorities, all I got in the end was ‘Just move.'”
Their new neighbours are no better and the man revealed he has resorted to using noise cancelling headphones to deal with the damage done by the noise next door. Starting a noise war was not doable and moving seemed futile as they believe their next neighbours will be as bad. Reddit users are now suggesting they complain to the police as they sympathised with the horror nosies.
One wrote: “Check with your local ordinances but many times 10pm is the curfew and you can call non emergency police line for any noise disturbances. I’d personally never confront over music noise for many reasons. Let the police handle it.” Another in a similar position revealed: “When gamer man goes to sleep during the day I’d just leave an alarm running on loop when you head off to work. He ruins your sleep you ruin his. The DJ neighbour needs to turn it off by 10 pm.”
