This neighbour wasn’t happy by an innocent mistake of having a part of their lawn accidentally cut – and took matters into their own hands to ‘make a point’ for it to not happen again
Neighbour spats can be awkward – and this neighbour made it very clear they weren’t impressed with an innocent lawn mistake.
Trying to keep the peace with those living around you can make life so much easier, but one homeowner was stunned when a simple lawn error ended up with their neighbour destroying their grass.
They explained how they had accidentally mowed a part of their neighbour’s lawn and crossed over the boundary line. They claimed their neighbour took great offence to this, and in response sprayed grass killer over the lawn in a petty revenge over the innocent blunder – and created a boundary line.
Shocked at what happened, they took to Reddit to share the ordeal and their new ‘border’, and wrote: ” Neighbour not happy that we mowed one row into his lawn, so he decided to spray grass killer to make a point,” an posted a photo of the boundary line on the lawn with a brown dotted line separating the gardens.
This then created tension between the neighbours, and they claimed it’s not the first time their neighbours have been “upset” about accidentally mowing into their garden and claimed they had put up “stakes” to show the boundary. This has then caused a debate over who is in the wrong.
Some were on the neighbour’s side and said: “The grass is literally greener on the other side. You took a hatchet to a work of art. I get that not everyone cares about lawns, but your neighbour is entitled to not have his ruined by a careless neighbour,” while a second added: “Your neighbour really cares about his lawn. You can see the line where he cut, and it really does look worse. This is drastic, but I think you got the message. I doubt this was the first time.”
Whereas others think it’s petty as one person said: “How and why can people be so petty? Life is short, you’re living it out just as your neighbor does, let us be humans, not territorial animals,” and a second added: “What an a**hole! If anything, you made his job slightly easier by mowing part of his lawn, thus giving him less grass to cut.”
