A married man has been praised for deciding to divorce wife after discovering secret ‘loyalty test’ using her best friend to check if he could be unfaithful to her
A married man in his early 20s has told how the ‘sneaky, deceitful’ actions of his untrusting wife led to an irreparable breakdown in their marriage. After admitting it wasn’t the first time he had uncovered her secret plot to catch him out, he told how his wife’s friend had ‘tested the waters’ with him while she was away, to see if he could be lured into being unfaithful.
He said: “I told my wife everything, I was open and honest, but instead, she deflected the blame onto me,” he fumed, before admitting this was the second time he had been accused by his wife of ‘leading another woman on’. After asking her outright if she trusted him, he was left ‘blindsided’ when she told him: “There are times when she doesn’t.”

With the couple both young and currently without children to consider, he said her doubt had led to him asking for a divorce, leaving her ‘blindsided’ instead: “She didn’t want to, but I made my case. I don’t want to spend the rest of my life with someone who doesn’t trust or appreciate me.”
And after taking his divorce drama to Reddit, readers were quick to jump to his defence: “You just saved yourself a life full of dramas,” said one, while another commented: “No one would try so hard to make something happen like this. Not for any normal person, anyway.”
Another agreed, commenting: “Very weird behaviour. But divorce is certainly the best early on, especially before kids. Life’s way too short to have to deal with this sort of nonsense under your own roof,” advised another, while one said: “You are walking away from a lifetime of psychological games to appease her gaslighting and probably projection of her own infidelity … this might mean she’s hiding some cheating from you. You did the right thing.”
