Apple has added another popular iPhone to its list of obsolete devices – if your smartphone features on this list it’s time to upgrade.
If you haven’t splashed out on a new iPhone in a while it could be time to upgrade. Apple has just added a new device to its list of so-called ‘obsolete’ products which means it will no longer get vital updates and can’t be repaired if something goes wrong. The latest call maker to be given the dreaded status is the iPhone 6 Plus which originally launched all the way back in 2015. This was a massively popular device as it was one of the first Apple smartphones to include a bigger 5.5-inch screen.
Owners were also treated to a faster A8 processor, improved single-lens rear snapper and HD video calls thanks to a better FaceTime camera.
Sadly, if you’ve been clinging to the past and still have the iPhone 6 Plus in your pocket it’s finally time to wave bye-bye.
As Apple explains, “Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 7 years ago. Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products, and service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products.”

Although the iPhone 15 is the top dog in Apple’s lineup there are plenty of other options including the impressive iPhone 14 and cheaper iPhone 13. If you can find one, we’d still highly recommend the iPhone 12 with this device offering plenty of features and enough power for the average user.
