Two men from Tottenham ‘senselessly’ murdered another man when an argument spiralled into Seven Sisters Tube station. Kevin Nguyen and Milumo Pedrinho, of Westerfield Road and Stonebridge Road, respectively, chased Ervin Baraku down the station’s stairs before stabbing him on July 23, 2024.

The pair, now both aged 21, had gotten into an altercation with the 33-year-old on the street minutes earlier, with Pedrinho seen following him with a large knife. Ervin tripped as he scrambled to escape and was knifed once in the chest, collapsing at the top of the stairs as his attackers fled.

He died in hospital as a result of his injuries a week later. Nguyen was arrested on July 24, with Pedrinho taken into custody on July 27.

Nguyen was found guilty of murder at Inner London Crown Court today (Thursday, June 12). His accomplice previously pleaded guilty to the same charge on April 24.

Both men will appear at the same court on Monday, June 16 where a sentencing date will be set. Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn of the British Transport Police said no length of punishment will replace what has been taken from Ervin’s family.

They added: “This was an absolutely senseless and tragic attack that resulted in a man losing his life. There is absolutely no place for violence on the railway network, so I am glad to see both Nguyen and Pedrinho will be put behind bars for their part in this brutal murder.

“While no prison sentence can ever make up for the loss of a loved one, I hope justice being served can bring Ervin’s family some peace after this horrific ordeal.”
