Oasis fan heartbroken as Cardiff tickets disappear due to seller’s crucial mistake

A London Oasis fan is devastated after discovering her tickets to one of the Cardiff gigs are invalid after a seller sold them twice. Beth North spent £730 buying four Oasis tickets – plus £45 on parking she won’t get back – for Saturday’s (July 5) show at the Principality Stadium through Twickets.

As Beth used a verified ticket reselling site she presumed her tickets were secure. But days before the long await Oasis gig she went onto the app to download them into her digital wallet only to find they had been revoked and disappeared.

Unfortunately, the reseller had listed the same four tickets for sale twice. Beth was the second buyer and they had been listed again after a delayed response from the first buyer. In the end they told Beth the tickets were awarded to the first buyer, who wasn’t her, after they were downloaded by the first buyer.

She’s still awaiting a refund and has had to fork out another . Beth, a support worker, said: “They have allowed me to buy tickets, pay for them and have them in my wallet ready for this weekend.

“To have them revoked because the seller put them on twice was so frustrating. This should never have been allowed, and now I am without tickets days before the Cardiff show.

“I am absolutely heartbroken as they have been a dream of mine to see. Twickets should not be allowed to be advertised as a verified ticket seller when they can allow people to do this. Twickets just said that the seller returned the tickets [to sale] because the first person they were selling them to didn’t reply.”

Twickets issue a full refund and advise fans to keep looking for resales

Twickets say a refund will take two to three days to come through. Beth added: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and when they announced the reunion, I just couldn’t believe it. This was all part of the master plan.”

Richard Davies, founder of Twickets, said: “We’re really sorry to hear about Bethany’s experience and completely understand how disappointing this must have been. As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we issued a full refund on July 1, and this normally takes 2-3 days to transfer.

“We advised her to keep checking the platform, as we know from experience that more tickets often appear closer to the event date. While the mistake was down to the seller relisting their tickets after not hearing back from their original buyer, we acted swiftly to put things right.

“Although mobile ticket transfers happen outside of our system and we have no visibility over when or to whom they are sent, we always work to resolve situations like this fairly. That includes blocking sellers from any further activity where appropriate.

“We’ve also been liaising with STAR (the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers) on this complaint, and they are satisfied with how we’ve handled the case. We regret that Bethany didn’t have the smooth experience we aim for, but we’re pleased we were able to refund her quickly and continue supporting her search.”
