Preparing for their massive comeback next month, Oasis are reportedly already in rehearsals at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium to ensure their live performances are perfectly polished. The Welsh gig will kick off the band’s 17-date UK and Ireland tour, which includes five dates at London’s Wembley Stadium.

While some bands may only do a soundcheck on the day, Noel and Liam Gallagher are covering all bases for their monumental reunion gig, having not graced the stage together for over a decade. With new recruits including drummer Joey Waronker and guitarists Andy Bell, Gem Archer, and Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, the band is fine-tuning their act inside the stadium usually known for rugby and football to ensure they kick off their tour on a high note.

An insider has been quoted by the Mirror as saying: “With a new line up and it being such a huge first show, the boys will do some songs inside the venue too. Some tours would start with a smaller show or take a week or two to get into the groove again. But there is no time for that and also Liam and Noel want every night to be massive. This is such a huge comeback show and they are taking it very seriously. It all points to it being an incredible comeback tour.”

Liam Gallagher sent out a heads-up about their opening night, announcing that Oasis will hit the stage at 8.15pm sharp for their first performance, cheekily warning fans via social media: “don’t be late or we’ll start without you and you don’t want that now”.

The band shed some light on its upcoming gig lineup to the Mirror, with support act Cast set to hit the stage at 6pm and Richard Ashcroft performing at 7pm, while DJs will entertain early arrivals as gates open from 5pm. They’re anticipated to entertain the crowd of 74,500 with a two-hour set.

Noel recently shared with TalkSport that although he’s got the weekend off, the band’s rehearsals last week sounded “huge”. Liam has also stirred up excitement on X, previously known as Twitter, reassuring a fan that the stadium’s roof would be irrelevant during their performances, quipping: “It’ll be coming off either way.”

Cardiff is just one stop among others including Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin on their tour. Their new Adidas collaboration on merchandise has been a significant success, with some items already sold out.

Noel’s departure from the iconic Manchester rock group in August 2009 came with a statement that he couldn’t bear working with Liam any longer, marking over a decade of squabbles between the two. Yet, the tension seemed to evaporate with the announcement of their tour last August, with both brothers posing together for photos on Tuesday, triumphantly announcing: “The great wait is over.”

Oasis’ track ‘Live Forever’ was voted the best British song ever in a recent poll, adding to the buzz around the band’s much-awaited reunion tour slated for this summer.

The Manchester-based band, fronted by Noel and Liam Gallagher, boasted an impressive 16 tracks in Radio X’s top 100 results. Alongside ‘Live Forever’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’ also secured spots in the top 10. This was part of Radio X’s 10th annual Best Of British with BandQ poll.

The upcoming live performances will also see special appearances from Richard Ashcroft and Cast, who are known to be mates with the band.

Oasis arrive in London on July 25, 26, 30, August 2 and 3, and September 27 and 28. The majority of dates are fully sold outs, but fans keen on a last-minute hunt for tickets can check out resale sites and official retailers here.
