A tricky optical illusion has left so many people baffled, only a “true master of observation” is able to get to the bottom of it. Many people enjoy the intrigue of an optical illusion, or similar images that contain a hidden detail.

These addictive and alluring images often use light, colour and patterns to produce pictures that can cause a viewer to see something that’s completely different to reality. This can be achieved in a variety of ways, from forced perspective to exploiting the way our eyes and brains process images.

Such pictures maintain their appeal because not everyone perceives them the same way – some people can’t even see them at all.

This is due to the fact that how everyone processes information and visual cues is different. Optical illusions can also offer insight into how our eyes and brain work together.

In other instances, some innocently snapped photographs can quickly create a form of an optical illusion by accidentally blurring details together, making it tricky to find one particular detail.

One such photo has gained a lot of attention on social media, leaving many people scratching their heads in confusion.

On Reddit, in a post titled “Find the cat”, one person shared an image of a chunky tree, with thick, winding trunks on grass.

In the background, dense, leafy bushes and foliage can be seen. The rough texture of the tree trunk and the light filtering through the leaves makes it tricky to spot a cat hiding among the peaceful nature scene.

Beneath the image, the original poster simply said: “1st time posting. I hope it’s a good one. Good luck!”

In the comments section beneath the post, many people rushed to share their thoughts. One person joked: “No cats here, only mysterious floating eyeballs!”

Someone else offered an intriguing clue: “I see a glowing eye!”

A third quipped: “Not me saying ‘here kitty kitty’ while I looked.”

A fourth Reddit user spotted the answer in the comments section but still felt confused. They shared: “Is there not one in the top of the tree? Everyone’s saying somewhere else like right in the middle. I swear there’s a black and white one”.

The original poster confirmed there was just one cat in the picture – and it wasn’t a “black and white one” at the “top of the tree”.

Someone else said: “Oooh clever haha”.

Others who were able to find the cat shared its location, but one person simply said: “I found it”. Another said: “Creepy AF”.

And another shared: “Peeking through the V-shape between the two center tree trunks, below the leaves”.

While someone else quipped: “It’s the eye of the tiger…”

Another Reddit user added: “That honestly scared me, idk [I don’t know] why”.

Indeed, the cat can be found near the centre of the image, on the ground and peeking out between the largest gap between the tree trunks. One of the cat’s green eyes is visible, which helps show its location.
