Only Fools and Horses may have a hidden gem you’ve likely overlooked, despite her appearances in everything from Holby City to the Oscar-winning film One. This extra, who has had an impressive 50-year career, made her mark in the first series of the classic sitcom as Del Boy’s ex-fiancee, Pauline Harris.
Their relationship quickly rekindles, leading to Del Boy announcing his plans to marry Pauline, much to the surprise of Grandad and Rodney who suspect she’s a gold digger and killer. After moving into the Trotter flat and asserting her dominance, the Trotters eventually flee to Clacton, marking the end of Pauline’s appearance.
However, you’ve likely seen the actress who portrayed her, Jill Baker, in numerous other shows.

The 70 year old has featured in a plethora of TV series including Casualty, Happy Valley, Holby City, Midsomer Murders, Touch of Frost, and The Bill. From 2014 to 2015, she played Margot Summerhayes in EastEnders, mother of DC Emma Summerhayes who was romantically involved with Max Branning.
Baker has also found success on the silver screen, starring in films such as Notes on a Scandal, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and the Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love. Her husband, Bob Peck, was also a highly successful actor, best known for his role as park warden Robert Muldoon in the 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park.
Jill and Bob, who tied the knot in 1982 and had three children together, faced a tragic loss when Bob passed away at just 53 years old in 1999 after a fight with cancer.
