Being able to spot what’s wrong in an image can be a sign of excellent problem-solving skills and good cognitive function. It means you’re able to process information quickly and find the anomaly in a set of given data. Working on these skills is important for your brain to function properly, and we should be exercising in this way just as often as we do the rest of our bodies.
One of the best ways to give your brain a good workout is by completing puzzles that challenge you to think outside the box. Take a look at the picture in the Reddit post above. You should be able to see around 21 dice on a wooden table. The dice are not organised in any way, and they all have varying sides facing up – showing all the options from one to six.
However, according to the poster of the image, one of these dice is not the same as all the others. Although they are all white dice with black dots for the numbers, one of them was made by a completely different company – and is visibly different as a result.
Your task is to find the odd die as quickly as you can, and if you manage to find it in under 10 seconds, you can officially consider yourself among the best of the best.
Don’t worry too much about the time, though. You’ll start to solve this type of puzzle faster the more regularly you do them, so it doesn’t matter if it takes you a while this time. The important thing is that you stick with it and try to solve it.

The die you’re looking for is the left-most die displaying the number three.
It’s very difficult to tell without zooming in and studying closely, but you can just about tell that the left-most three has a square face instead of a rounded one. It also has slightly different spacing from the other dice displaying the same number, as each dot has a bigger gap between it.
The spacing is the easiest way to tell which dice is the odd one out. The poster even claimed he had originally come up with a puzzle that had every dice displaying the number one, but found that version “impossible” to solve as you can’t look at the spacing when there’s only one dot.
