Do you have what it takes to solve this mind-boggling optical illusion? Many brainteasers you might find online can work wonders for many things, like testing your brain and eyesight, as well as keeping you very much entertained.

Now the latest puzzle on Reddit is rather baffling. Over on the Optical illusions forum on the social media platform, which has 180,000 members, one user shared the ultimate image that could really confuse your mind – and even the eyes. It showed a grid which looks rather disorientating if you stare at it for too many seconds. So can you see why?

Well the caption read: “This grid is not warped like a bubble, all lines are parallel/perpendicular.” When you stare at the centre of the image, it seems as though there’s a bubble effect, but that’s where you’re wrong.

In fact, the lines are parallel which means your mind is forced into seeing something totally different. So are you wondering why this is the case?

Due to the positions of the small circles inside the squares, it makes concentric circles around the centre square.

People on Reddit offered ways to fix the illusion as one said: “Squint your eyes to get them to stop focusing on the dots. Everything should straighten right out.”

Another added: “This is such a remarkable illusion. I can only break the illusion by either zooming in or tilting near sideways.” Since it was shared on the forum, it racked up nearly 700 likes and plenty of comments.

One said: “Wooaah I hate this.” Another added: “I love this one.” A third admitted: “Thumbs up, one of the better ones I’ve seen on this sub.” Are you looking for more optical illusions?

Previously, what you see first in one optical illusion can determine whether you’re “moral” or “stable”. Also another brainteaser shows if you’re “too positive” or prefer to “keep distance”.

Optical illusions can work by tricking the brain into misinterpreting visual information from the eyes, causing it to perceive something that isn’t actually there.

This misinterpretation arises from the brain’s need to quickly and efficiently process visual data, often relying on shortcuts and assumptions that can lead to illusions.
