Many people will remember when a Happy Meal at McDonald’s was just £1.99 – but parents need to remember no more as the price has been slashed to make things cheaper during the Easter holidays.
From Thursday, March 28, until Sunday, April 14, families can purchase a really cheap treat meal for their kids when they place an order through the McDonald’s app. The 40% reduction in the average price of the Happy Meal is sure to bring smiles to the faces of families across the country during the Easter holidays, making the meal much more affordable for many parents.
The news comes as McDonald’s announces its first-ever UK Happy Meal partnership with the classic multi-player card game Uno, featuring characters from iconic DreamWorks Animation franchises, which is set to land in restaurants from March 27, until May 7. The card game is set to provide fun and entertainment whether you’re at home, on holiday, or enduring a long car journey.
The classic multiplayer card game Uno provides endless fun for both parents and children alike, with each family member competing to be the first player to get rid of all their cards bar one and shout Uno at the top of their lungs.
Kids could end up with one of six Uno packs, including designs featuring well-known DreamWorks film characters from Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, Madagascar, Trolls and Megamind. The characters are meant to bring bursts of nostalgia for parents and waves of excitement for little ones. And, families looking for a book instead of a toy can opt for one of two ‘Little People Big Dreams’ books – I Can Be an Astronaut or I Can Be a Brave Adventurer.
Happy Meals usually cost around £3.49, so it’s well worth taking advantage of the £1.99 deal during the holidays on the McDonald’s app. A Happy Meal contains a choice of Fish Fingers, Chicken McNuggets or Veggie Dippers with an Apple and Grape bag or Carrot Bag side, plus drink options including water, milk, or Fruit Shoot.
