Peckham and Camden crashes see 3 people rushed to hospital with roads shut for hours

Three people have been taken to hospital following two crashes in London early this morning, Thursday June 6. In Camden, a car and a lorry collided shortly before 2am, leaving two people injured.

A woman was rushed to hospital for treatment, but her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police has said. A man was also treated at the scene on Chalk Farm Road, but did not go to hospital.

In a statement from the Metropolitan Police, the force said: “Police were called at approximately 01:55hrs on Thursday, 6 June to reports of a collision involving a car and a lorry in Chalk Farm Road, NW1. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.

“One woman was taken to hospital for treatment; her injuries are not thought to be life threatening. One male was treated at the scene. Road closures remain in place. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”

In a second crash in Peckham, two people riding a motorbike crashed on Queens Road near the Overground and railway station. Both the rider and pillion passengers on the bike were taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.

Their injuries were not assessed as life-threatening. The Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 02:30hrs on Thursday, 6 June to reports of a motorcycle involved in a collision in Queens Road, SE15. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.

“The rider and pillion passenger of the motorcycle were taken to hospital for treatment; their injuries are not life threatening. Road closures were put in place while the scene was dealt with; these have since been lifted. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
