A 26-year-old man is in hospital following a shooting in Peckham yesterday evening (November 5). He was hit once on Peckham Hill Street shortly before 6.40pm, and sought help in a nearby restaurant.

Paramedics later rushed him to a major trauma centre, where he remains. The Metropolitan Police say his injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

No one has been arrested in connection as this stage and an investigation is ongoing, the force added. Photos taken this morning show a large cordon stretching from Peckham Hill Street to the adjacent Peckham Square.

A handful of police officers continue to stand guard around it. Medical equipment and evidence bags can be seen within Filishack, a Filipino eatery on the busy road.
