Neighbour’s ‘petty’ lawn mowing act sparks fierce debate
Your lawn mowing routine is vital for keeping your grass thriving.
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a novice, understanding the basics can transform your lawn into a lush, green haven. It may seem like a simple task, but many people have been getting it wrong.
A gardening guru, who posts online as Black Lotus Gardening, has gone viral after they made people realise the errors with a viral video on social media. In the TikTok clip, which gained more than 35,000 views, the bloke from Melbourne, was seen struggling to trim the overgrown grass.
But he told fans there was a simple “method will change your life.” He wrote: “I used to just smash the lawn mower into the tall grass and pray to the lawn gods.
“Then after gaining enough exp, I decided that it worked out to be faster mowing the lawn twice.”
He was seen going over the grass after using a switch on the side of the mower to make it higher.
Then he gave the grass a quick once over to remove some of the length, before using a switch on the side of the mower to put it back down to the desired trim.
He added: “Once on a high setting and then again on the desired setting. It’s a bonus if you line trim the edges in between since it is easier to see and you can catch it on the second run-through.”
TikTok users were left stunned by the clip as many people didn’t know they could adjust the trim on their lawnmowers. One user said: “Oh, you’re a genius I would have never figured that out.”
Another added: “Nah, just lift the front of the mower when it’s about to shut off,” while a third commented: “Wait….. mowers can be adjusted?”
