A woman recently left fans stunned after she shared her simple trick to make sofa scars look unnoticeable so that you don’t have to fork out for a new couch

Nothing ruins the aesthetic of your living room like a sofa scar. These unsightly marks or indentations left on a sofa’s surface can be caused by prolonged pressure or wear and tear on the upholstery fabric or leather.

It is usually taken as a sign that you need to get a new sofa. But forking out on new furnishings for your home can be pricey.

But one woman recently left fans stunned after she shared her simple trick to fix sofa scars without having to fork out for a new couch. The lass, who posts online under the username ‘takeoff001’, gained more than 1.5million likes after she showed fans how it’s done.

In the clip, she was seen cutting around some burn damage in her leather couch cushion and tracing around it on a piece of clear plastic before stuffing some fabric in the hole. She then covered the hole with a small piece of faux leather material before covering the area with some filler.

Once it was sanded down, she was able to draw a stencil to recreate the holes from the original design. She then sprayed the repair the colour of the original material. By the time she was finished, you couldn’t tell that the cushion had been damaged at all, which left fans floored.

One TikTok user said: “I did not trust the process but it’s perfect,” while another gushed: “That was a whole surgery.” A third wrote: “That’s impressive.” Meanwhile, a fourth dubbed it the “best repair I’ve seen in a while.”

It comes after a cleaning expert has come up with a hack to help revive your dirty sofa so it looks brand new. Anita Birges, who is known for her organising and cleaning methods, has revealed her “by far the most impressive” method for cleaning the sofa after having “tested and tried so many cleaning hacks over the years”.
