Lexie Simmons was left baffled when her boyfriend showed her the correct way to remove temporary tattoos in seconds that doesn’t involve scrubbing hard at your skin
When you were a kid, you felt ‘so cool’ having a temporary tattoo stuck to your arm – especially those Spider-Man ones from the packs of candy sticks.
Once they started to peel away, the time had come for the dreaded wash-off, which often involved scrubbing at your skin to get it off in thick clumps. But it turns out there was an easier way all along.
A woman, who posts online as @lexiesimmonss, was left stunned when her boyfriend showed her his technique that removes temporary tattoos in seconds – without scrubbing at all. In the video, which has gained more than 37,000 likes, she was seen holding out her arm, donning an alien design on the back of her hand.
Her boyfriend said: “This is how you can get off these temporary tattoos.” He placed a piece of celotape over the design and said: “You gotta put it on. Push down. And then. Peel it off.”
“No way. Do you not know that? I actually didn’t,” Lexie said, shocked, before noting that kids could keep the tattoos if they wanted to. She said: “You could actually you could keep these because obviously a lot of kids really like the tattoos.”
But she wasn’t the only one who didn’t know the “life hack” as many TikTok users took to the comments completely flabbergasted. One user said: “The way I’ve been scrubbing off half my epidermis my whole life.”
Another added: “Even though I saw you do it, I still don’t believe it,” while a third commented: “All the years of scrubbing until we bled to get them off before school in the 90s.”
Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: “Jesus Christ my mother scrubbed 3 layers of my skin off on a Sunday evening for nothing.”
