A TikTok video showcasing the clearing of person’s home has left people in stitches after a major member of the Royal Family made an extremely unexpected appearance
A viral TikTok has stunned viewers after a major member of the Royal Family made a very unexpected cameo.
The video showed TikTok user @thecleanupcompany cleaning a home following someone’s passing, talking viewers through the process of a bereavement clearance.
The team could be seen putting clothes into boxes and taking photos off the walls. It all seemed pretty straight forward until one member of the team went to take a special photo down, believing it to be the person who used to live there. “Your clothes will be donated to charity, memory boxes chucked in the skip, and pictures taken down. I mean, look how beautiful this lady was when she was younger,” the narrator says.
However, unsuspecting social media members immediately recognised the woman in the framed photo – not as the person who once lived in the home, but as Princess Diana. This perhaps explains why the original clip has been viewed more than 4.4million times, and several more times after being shared to X/Twitter.
The “superb accidental punchline”, as one viewer described it, has taken social media by storm as viewers were left in stitches at the mix-up. One X user suggested the narrator may not have realised it was Diana at the time, writing: “To be fair people who are under 30 probably have no direct recollection of Diana whatsoever.”
“If I’m mistaken for Diana once I’m dead I’d be pretty happy,” another person said. A third wrote: “I was not expecting that lmaooo.”
A TikTok comment simply read: “That’s princess diana.” The comment racked up over 18,000 likes. Another said: “I can’t breathe. That’s DIANA.”
While one user wondered if the mishap had been on purpose, another suggested the voiceover definitely “wasn’t joking”. And some people didn’t even cotton on to the fact Diana had appeared, with another comment reading: “I can’t believe family wouldn’t take the family photos.”
