Person taken to hospital after ‘police incident’ shut Victoria to Beckenham Junction lines

A person has been taken to hospital following a ‘police incident’ at Penge East station. The British Transport Police (BTP) were called to a ‘person in a precarious position’ shortly before 9.45am on Sunday, August 17.

Paramedics later treated one patient for non-life-threatening injuries. The railway lines between London Victoria and Beckenham Junction were shut during the rush hour incident.

Trains travelling between the two stations had to be diverted via Catford.

A BTP spokesperson said: “We were called to Penge East station shortly before 9.45am yesterday (17 August) following reports of a person in a precarious position. Officers attended along with a paramedics and a person was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.”
