Phillip Schofiled has posted publicly on social media for the first time since leaving all his TV roles. Schofield quit This Morning and Dancing on Ice more than a year ago after admitting an affair with a younger colleague.

He took to Instagram this morning to share a picture of his dog watching television, writing “Thankfully, Alfie is a big @f1 fan”

The post was quickly liked and shared by thousands of people, including fellow This Morning host Josie Gibson.

The post also gained likes from his daughters Ruby, 27, and Molly, 30. In May last year, Schofield resigned from ITV and was dropped by his talent agency after admitting to the “unwise, but not illegal” relationship.

An external review by ITV published a report last year saying Schofield had “reluctantly declined” to take part because of “the risk to his health”.

It found that the broadcaster made “considerable efforts” to discover the truth about an alleged relationship between Schofield and a runner on This Morning in 2019 but was “unable to uncover the relevant evidence” until his admission in 2023.
