Photos show Finsbury Park ‘murder’ scene after 19-year-old killed in street

Photos of the Finsbury Park crime scene show Tollington Park littered with police officers and forensics. A 19-year-old was stabbed to death before 3am this morning.

The emergency services raced to Tollington Park at around 2.50am, but the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

The attacker has not yet been arrested.

A man working at The Sun newsagents within the crime scene told MyLondon he isn’t allowed to get into his shop. “All I can do is wait,” he said.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “A murder investigation is under way following a stabbing in Islington. Police were called at approximately 2.50am on Thursday, July 11, to reports of a man injured in Stroud Green Road, at the junction of Tollington Park, N4.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, aged 19, suffering stab injuries. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His next of kin have been informed. A crime scene remains in place.

“There has been no arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue. Anyone with information that could assist police at this early stage is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD873/11Jul.

“You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
