Providers O2 and Sky Mobile are offering mega deals on the flagship Google device, with one cutting the price by a huge £600
Cutting the cost of a brand-new phone by monthly instalments is a popular way for tech fanatics to get their hands on the latest new flagship device. And a newly spotted Google Pixel 8 offer could convince you to ditch Apple and Samsung.
That’s because O2 has taken a huge £600 off the price of its plan thanks to a huge summer sale, making it cheaper to buy here than at rival Sky Mobile. Google fans can now get the Pixel 8 device for as little as £13.92 a month.
You’ll need to be prepared to lock into a three-year plan, in order to split the cost into much more affordable payments. In total you’ll pay £1,0005 overall for the device and 25GB of monthly data you wouldn’t get included if you were to buy the phone upfront.

Compared to Sky Mobile’s £1,044 price, the O2 plan works out to be much cheaper thanks to the much lower device cost and discreet sale which slashes the price of the added-on data. The total £600 saving comes in with a £168 discount on the Pixel 8 mobile, followed by a 12-month discount (of £432) on the 25GB of data plan.
Although, you only have until August 7 to add this rare offer to your basket. The deal is on the standard 128GB Pixel 8 model, a smaller option than the 256GB for those with fewer photos, and playlists ready to download. It’s not the only device in the range, as the Pixel 8 Pro is another option for shoppers.
Google’s Pixel range is a go-to for many thanks to its seven years of confirmed software updates (from the 2023 launch), this means users could buy the device now and be able to upgrade their software each year until 2030 – pretty neat.
For those who don’t want to spend years paying off the device Amazon is offering a deal for those with a chunk of cash ready to spend upfront, with the 128GB device for £474 – that’s £225 off but it comes with no pay-monthly data or airtime. Another option, is Google’s newer Pixel 8a model, a stripped-back budget version of its Pixel 8 range of devices.
We’ve recently reviewed the mode, which you can buy for less at Mobiles.co.uk and it has all the major Google features “without a ramped-up price”. Reviewing the cheaper device for BirminghamLive, here’s what you can expect.
“The Pixel 8a is Google’s time to show that a flashy, modern and up-to-date smartphone doesn’t need to cost thousands of pounds with a tag of £499 instead. With a solid 24-hour battery life, an OLED screen, a speedy Tensor G3Chip and a handful of AI editing features its price may be budget but its specs certainly aren’t.
“Having ditched my iPhone for the Pixel 8a, I’d say there’s nothing that will put mobile fans off, if anything, the differences are so minuscule day-to-day it’s easy to forget just how much cheaper it is. Only avid Google fans will be able to spot its design differences as the 8a boasts a rounded shell and a smaller camera display notch.
“When it comes to screen size there’s a fraction difference between the 8a 6.1-inch and the Pixel 8s’ 6.2-inch display. There isn’t that much difference between the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a phones when it comes to look, bar a slightly thicker model and bigger bezel.”
