Two men born in Britain are suspected of carrying out the Huntingdon train knife attack, police have said. The news comes as the forensics team continues to gather evidence from the abandoned LNER service and adjacent platform.

In a statement, the British Transport Police confirmed one suspect is a black British national and the other is a British national of Caribbean descent. Both men, aged 32 and 35, respectively, were born in the UK.

The pair remain in separate police stations for questioning, the force added. It is unclear where they got on the train or where they were living.

Two people remain in life-threatening condition following the bloody rampage on Saturday evening (November 1). 10 people were taken to hospital by paramedics, with one person later self-presenting.

Huntingdon station remains taped off by police this afternoon – with the train still visible on the platform. A number of forensics officers and sniffer dogs were also seen arriving.
