A young woman had to jump onto a Tube train as the doors were closing to escape a sex attacker. British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man officers want to find and speak to over the shocking assault that happened in the morning.
The attacker followed the young woman, in her 20s, off of a District line train at Mile End East bound where he stood close to her on the quiet platform before sexually assaulting her on Thursday, May 1 between 9am and 9.45am.
He then followed her onto a bench while she waited for a train, before following her onto the carriage while staring at her. She was then followed off the train at South Woodford, but the woman jumped off the train as the doors closed to get away from the man.
Police have released an image of a man they believe may have information which could help their investigation. Anyone who recognises him is asked to get in contact with the British Transport Police by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 394 of 1 May.
