A manhunt is underway after a woman was repeatedly sexually assaulted aboard a South Western Railway train. Police say she was violated between Barnes Bridge and Vauxhall at around 4.40pm on May 13.
Her attacker then alighted at the busy Central London station and is yet to be tracked down. The British Transport Police (BTP) has now released a CCTV image in the hopes someone can identify a person of interest.
The footage shows a white man with a bald head and dark beard. He is wearing a black hoodie and black t-shirt featuring a tiger’s head.
A BTP statement reads: “Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could help their investigation.”
The appeal comes just two days after MyLondon shared news of a male-on-male sexual assault on the Elizabeth line. Detectives believe their suspect struck at around 8am on Monday, June 16, as thousands of commuters headed to work.
Anyone who recognises the man in the Vauxhall image is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 296 of 14 May. Anonymous reports can also be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111 or the charity’s website.
