Police manhunt after ‘London Underground sex attack by ticket barriers’

Police have launched a CCTV appeal after a woman aged in her 20s was allegedly sexually assaulted at Farringdon station.

At about 9.50pm on Thursday, June 12 the victim was stood by the station barriers with her friend when a man attacked her.

He then made kiss gestures towards her as we walked off.

British Transport Police has asked anyone with information about what happened to text 61016, quoting 739 of 12 June.

A spokesperson said: “Detectives investigating a sexual assault at Farringdon station have released this CCTV image in connection.

“On Thursday, June 12 at around 9.50pm a woman in her early twenties was stood near the barrier with a friend when a man sexually assaulting her and then made kiss gestures towards her.

“Detectives believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that could help with their investigation.

“Anyone who recognises them is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 739 of 12 June.

“Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
