A second 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail

Police have named a 25-year-old man accused of stabbing a teenager to death near Clapham Junction station. Muhammed Cabdiqaadir, 25, has been charged with murdering Rinneau Perrineau, aged 19, who was stabbed last Tuesday afternoon (October 21).

The attack happened shortly before 3.30pm on Lavender Hill leading to police shutting the road near the busy railway station. Rinneau, known as Ren to friends and family, was treated by paramedics at the scene for serious injuries.

He was then rushed to hospital where he died three days later on Friday, October 24. Cabdiqaadir was charged with murder a day later, while a second 23-year-old man who was also arrested for murder has been released on bail.

Rinneau’s family are being supported by specialist officers, police say. They said in a statement: “Ren was loved by many, he was always around his family. He will be dearly missed.”

Acting Borough Commander Amanda Mawhinney, who leads policing in the area, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this terrible time. This was a shocking crime committed in broad daylight. A teenager’s life was taken, and his family and friends have suffered an irrevocable loss.

“Our officers are making every effort to bring those responsible to justice. Residents may notice a police presence around the scene of the crime, as patrols have been stepped up in the local area.” Enquiries are ongoing into the fatal attack.
