A popular pasta sauce has been recalled with customers warned to return it for a full refund. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued the alert on May 1 over concerns a bad batch contains bits of glass.

The watchdog’s issued the recall for Organic Alla Norma Sauce costs £3.50 for a 350g jar, with the bad batch’s code reading 140227. Customers are at risk of ingesting glass if eaten, which can be very dangerous.

If for whatever reason the retailer doesn’t accept the product then contact the company at [email protected]. The product details are as follows:

The notice issued to customers reads: “Organico is recalling the above product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product.

“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice.”

Its website reads: “At Organico we buy and sell good food. Good food is food that’s well made and tasty but also that’s good for the planet and fair to the people we work with and who work for us… from farm to fork and from boat to plate.

“We commit to sourcing foods that are planet-positive, that help support and enhance biodiversity and eco-systems, that protect soils and the water supply, that are resilient, not wasteful, not polluting or damaging and where the resources used are endlessly renewable.”
