Several customers reported the same issue accessing their savings
Numerous NS&I savers have experienced problems when trying to log in and access their savings. Several savers using Plusnet got in touch with Premium Bonds provider NS&I about the problem.
One unhappy customer contacted NS&I over X stating that the online service had “stopped” for them. They said: “I’ve tried downloading your app and that just lingers on the load screen too. Just want to change my details.”
Alongside their message, they provided a screenshot of an error message appearing “every time”. The error message read “the site can’t be reached as “secure.nsandi.com took too long to respond”.”
In response, NS&I said: “We have had similar reports from Plusnet customers experiencing this issue and it is being looked into. However, I can confirm that our website is functioning as expected.
“Please try using mobile data on your device and this should allow you to reach the page.” The customer responded later to say that had been able to access their savings. They said: “Excellent – turned off wifi and the app worked. Thanks for this and will be contacting Plusnet momentarily.”
The customer then sought further assistance by asking: “Actually, the reason I wanted to get on there in the first place was that I am about to do a bank account switch and as part of this it will close my old account down. How do I change the bank account details for when it comes round to withdrawal (at the end of 12 months)? “.
A representative from the customer service team advised: “When you are logged into your NS&I account online, you are able to view and change your linked nominated bank account details under the ‘nominated accounts’ section.” Premium Bonds holders can have up to £50,000 in Bonds. The more Bonds you buy, the higher your chances of winning.
Every £1 Bond that enters the monthly draw has an equal opportunity of being picked for a prize. Prizes range from two jackpot prizes of £1million to other substantial amounts including £100,000 and £50,000.
You can use the prize checker tool on the NS&I website or through the app to see if you have any unclaimed prizes.
