The Primark shoes are very similar in design to the much more expensive version – for a fraction of the cost
Primark is stocking a pair of shoes that bear a striking resemblance to a pricier alternative. Known for its affordable fashion and homeware, the high street giant may have just introduced a new crowd-pleaser.
The retailer’s Pointed Eyelet Ballerina Flats looks similar to a style by brand Steve Madden, but at a fraction of the cost. Shoppers can snag the Primark version for £16, while the designer version is priced at £120 online.
The shoes are very similar, with a burgundy, leather-look finish, slingback design and flat sole. They also both have a silver-tone hardware and matching buckles and eyelet detailing on the front.
However, there are some slight differences between the two. The designer shoes have a nude-tone inner sole, while Primark’s is burgundy. The budget shoes are also patent leather-look, while the Steve Madden version are matte.
Primark describes the Pointed Eyelet Ballerina Flats as “pointed flats with buckle straps and eyelet detailing.” They are priced at £16 and come in burgundy or black.
The full Primark product description reads: “Step up your everyday look with these pointed eyelet ballerina flats in a chic burgundy shade. Designed with a sleek pointed toe and slingback strap, they mix comfort and style with ease.
“The front is detailed with multiple decorative straps, silver-toned eyelets and adjustable buckles for a bold finish. The padded insole adds extra comfort, while the slingback buckle helps you get the fit just right. Whether you’re heading out for brunch or dressing up your everyday jeans, these flats add a polished twist.”
The Primark shoes retail for £16, while the Steve Madden Grezly Pump Dk Cherry Lacq come in at £120. This means shoppers could save around £104 by opting for the bargain version.
