Prince Andrew stayed in contact with Jeffrey Epstein for five years longer than he previously claimed, emails appear to show.

The disgraced Prince claimed in his infamous BBC Newsnight interview that he last saw and spoke to the convicted paedophile in December 2010, when the Royal visited the sex offender at his New York City home. It has already come out that Epstein wanted to “keep in touch” with Andrew and said he would “play some more soon”, in February 2011.

Shocking emails, from late 2015, reportedly shows the American paedophile telling his pal, an ex-Israeli Prime Minister, that Prince Andrew had information about a business opportunity in China.

The emails show Epstein talking to ex-Israeli leader Ehud Barak and dropping the Duke of York’s name as a source of information, indicating they could have been in contact for much longer than was admitted, according to The Times.

This email chain showed the sex offender emailing Barak – Israel’s Prime Minister between 1999 and 2001 – in December 2015. Epstein and the politician had some history as just before this online exchange the pair had invested millions into a security start-up together.

Epstein wrote: “Weathy [sic] Chines [sic] looking for to start personel [sic] protection co in Beijing.” The paedophile added that “kidnapping has begun”, appearing to reference the crime that had led to demand for more private security.

Barak responded to the message and said: “Where did you see it?” The sex offender said: “andrew”. The ex-Israeli PM then appeared to double check if the sex offender meant his royal friend, adding: “The Prince?” Epstein responded with: “yes”.

This correspondence was reported by US magazine Reason, last week, after they obtained Barak’s emails when they were “quietly posted” on the internet by file-sharing website Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoS). There is no proof this business deal went through but the bank-and-forth suggests the Duke and disgraced US financier stayed in touch for longer than he told the public. Barak declined to comment about the emails when approached by The Times.

This set of emails came after China’s President Xi came to the UK for a state visit, where the Duke of York helped to welcome him. This comes after Prince Andrew became the centre of a Chinese ‘spy’ scandal over his links to an alleged agent.

Yang Tengbo, who has previously said he had “done nothing wrong or unlawful”, was excluded from the UK on national security grounds in March 2023. Officials claimed he had been in a position to generate relationships between prominent UK figures and senior Chinese figures “that could be leveraged for political interference purposes”.

Tengbo had founded the lobbying firm Hampton Group International but allegedly secretly collected intelligence for the United Front Work Department (UFWD) – an arm of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The Chinese national has denied these allegations.

The Chinese national and the Duke are said to have developed an “unusual degree of trust”, while the Chinese national also reportedly developed close relationships with politicians which could have been used as “leverage” by the Chinese government.
