Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became first-time parents in May 2019 with the birth of their son Archie, followed by the arrival of their daughter Lilibet in June 2021
Prince Harry looks almost identical to his son Prince Archie in a never-before-seen family snap.
The Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child, son Archie, in May 2019, just over a year after they tied the knot in a star-studded wedding in Windsor. The couple later announced they had expanded their gorgeous family with the sweet addition of daughter Lilibet – named after Harry’s late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II – in June 2021. The couple have tried to keep their children out of the limelight since stepping down as senior working royals in January 2020 and relocating to the US, but eagle-eyed fans recently spotted a rare photo of Archie.
During the opening credits of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix docu-series Harry & Meghan, a sweet snap of Archie playing with his besotted dad was shown, and the father-son duo look almost identical. Flashing a cheeky grin at mum Meghan who was behind the camera, Harry can be seen in the background laughing with the exact same grin.

Many royal fans have claimed Archie bears a striking resemblance to his mother Meghan, but others have pointed out that the youngster is the spitting image of his father, even down to their fiery red hair. “Archie looks so much like Meghan. Lilibet looks like Harry and the Spencer’s, with a touch of Meghan,” one fan shared on X/Twitter, as another disagreed: “People say he looks like Meghan but I see baby Harry in Archie.”
Harry has previously spoken of the huge impact his firstborn had on his life, and revealed he felt a close connection with his late mother, Princess Diana, when Archie arrived. “I have no doubt that my mom would be incredibly proud of me. I’m living the life that she wanted to live for herself, living the life that she wanted us to be able to live. So not only do I know that she’s incredibly proud of me, but that she’s helped me get here,” Harry shared, adding that he felt his mother’s “presence” as he navigated parenthood.
Back in 2021, Harry revealed Archie’s first word was “crocodile”, and told James Corden that his son was just like him. “My son is now over a year and a half, he is hysterical, he’s got the most amazing personality, he’s already putting two, three words together, he’s already singing songs. His first word was ‘crocodile’, three syllables,” he gushed.
The duke candidly shared more details of Archie’s upbringing during a speech at the Invictus Games in 2022, and he revealed the ambitious youngster wanted to be a helicopter pilot – just like Harry – when he was older. “When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it’s an astronaut, other days it’s a pilot – a helicopter pilot obviously. But what I remind him is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it’s your character that matters most, and nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today.”
